2021-24 National Team: Meet Lyndsey Stevens
Lyndsey Stevens is a member of the 2021-24 PSIA-AASI National Team where she will help set the standard for snowsports instruction. PSIA-AASI hand-selected the 37 team members – 8 coaches chosen last season and 29 team members selected spring 2021 – for their range of skills that allow them to serve as inspirational leaders and build enthusiasm for learning and having fun skiing and riding.

What other occupations are you involved in?
Snowsports instructor and trainer.
Describe a teaching or learning experience that sticks out in your mind.
I taught a never-ever who came back week after week all season. Toward the end of the season, he asked me how he could become an instructor. It was incredible to see him go from never-ever to instructing. His dedication and excitement reminded me that we can all accomplish amazing things.
What are your specialties as a team member?
On snow and indoor training on topics that include people skills, teaching skills, and technical skills.
Any relevant certifications?
Snowboard level III, Children’s Specialist 2, Freestyle Specialist 1, Snowboard Adaptive Level I, Alpine Level I, Alpine Freestyle Specialist Level 1. United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) Level 100.
Who is your greatest inspiration as an instructor?
My greatest inspiration are instructors who show how much they love the sport. They are constantly challenging themselves and improving. Every new trick learned or new piece of information gathered is something they can share with students.
Best part of teaching?
The best part of teaching is watching someone become a snowsports person. You can see their love for the mountains and the sport grow as they continue to progress, like watching a spark become a fire. To be a part of that person’s memories of those times is a huge honor.
What’s your favorite run at your home mountain?
It’s tough to pick a favorite at Vail. I think it depends on the day. If it’s a sunny day you’ll likely find me around the Golden Peak Terrain Park. If you’re looking to catch up for an early morning groomer you’ll typically find me on Simba. If it’s a powder day you may not find me because I’ll be out exploring any one of our vast amount of tree runs.
