PSIA-AASI Unveils its National Team Interski 2023 Uniforms Created by The North Face
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (Feb. 22, 2022) – The Professional Ski Instructors of America and American Association for Snowboard Instructors (PSIA-AASI) and The North Face recently unveiled custom uniforms designed specifically for the PSIA-AASI National Team to wear to Interski 2023. The red, white, and blue outerwear will be worn by team members as they represent United States ski and snowboard instructors at this international event.
Held every four years, Interski Congress brings top snowsports instructors together from more than 40 countries to share their teaching techniques. The event includes indoor and on-snow presentations, as well as skiing and riding and teaching demonstrations. Interski 2023 will take place Sunday, March 26 through Friday, March 31 in Levi, Finland.
“The PSIA-AASI National Team – made up of the top ski and snowboard instructors from across the country – will attend Interski to present PSIA-AASI’s well developed guidelines of top teaching practices and how to create the best experience for the guest,” said PSIA-AASI CEO Peggy Hiller. “These inspirational leaders set the standard for how we teach skiing and snowboarding in the United States, and they are proud to represent the United States while wearing The North Face.”
The uniforms were inspired by the apparel the teams wore to Interskis in 1975 (held in Czechoslovakia), 1979 (Japan), and 1983 (Italy).
“We collaborated with PSIA-AASI to create these modern, patriotic designs to give team members something they’ll be proud to wear every time they’re on snow,” said The North Face Sales Associate Kevin McNeil.
The new uniforms feature FUTURELIGHT™, The North Face most advanced breathable-waterproof technology. Unlike conventional membranes, the nano structure of the FUTURELIGHT™, membrane allows air to pass through for better venting and breathability without sacrificing waterproofness and durability.
PSIA-AASI National Team Coach Jeb Boyd said, “The PSIA-AASI National Team spends the winter traveling across the country helping train members on how to improve their lessons. Our The North Face uniform gives us reliable protection from the elements so we can do our job at the highest level. It keeps us warm, dry, and comfortable in a variety of situations. With USA written across the back, the uniform truly embodies American snowports.”
